I Haven't Been Slackin!
Sooo... it's been a while since I updated this thing... I have been workin on my goals, slowly...haha! So here we go!
In chronological order:
#14 Read the Secret:
Originally, I had heard of this book because there was such a hype about it. But never did I really know what it was about until I had to do one of my final assignments for a business class I took a couple semesters ago. The concept of the Secret is quite simple: the laws of attraction: If you put your mind to it, you can be and do anything you truly desire. And it is that simple. However, it is not simple to achieve. I cannot say that I have experienced this to the fullest, but in some aspects of my life, I understand what this book is talking about. They market it as if it’s really simple, but if you broaden your mind, you’ll undersand. The laws of attraction is an amazing thing. For the longest time in high school, I had low self-esteem. I was the friend the guy would have to get thru or get friendly with (in a non-attractive/non-sexual way) to get to the pretty girl. And I spent a lot of time wishing that I was as pretty as my friend – that I could attract people like my pretty friends did. Then, after the however long being in the one man pity party, I got tired of it, and decided to just BE the type of person I truly wanted to be: grounded, nice, classy, smiley, confident, and love myself for who I am and make the most of who I can be. I’ve done photoshoots, finally released a couple original songs, performed a live show with my own songs – things I thought back in high school I could never achieve. And thru this, I learned that the world is attracted to confidence. Of course, I have plenty of insecurities that haunt me (I’m a vertically challenged Asian that likes to knit and can’t dance if her life depended on it… oh there’s plenty more!), but being truly happy with yourself is what keeps me motivated and happy. No one wants to be around someone who busies him or herself with comparing themselves to other people, or wishing for things other people have, or occupying themselves with wanting things they don’t have. Obtaining the things you want – success, love, money – they don’t come easy. But if you stay motivated and focused, and dedicated, where there is a will, there is a way.
#11. Keep a 3-times-a-week work out regime for at least 3 months
So this is how I pulled this off : tues/thurs work out in my apt comlex rec center, and then my weekly dance class… thought of posting a vid to prove my dancing, but decided I wanna polish that up first before posting a first impression haha! Only ONE person has seen this video, and that person laughed out loud. And kept laughing til the next day hahahaha. I’m getting there! On the other hand, can’t say that I have been keeping up this routine, but I do go the gym once a week and do attend my dance class… so went from 3 to 2. No biggie, right?
#93 Get Medical Insurance
OKAY. I’ve learned that since this “recession” medical insurers have taken advantage of the people out there that have been losing jobs as well as acquiring health problems due to the stress it has caused us. But I got it. Oh, but it was no easy-breezy task. I’ve come to the conclusion that the
If you know me, I don’t like wearing skirts out. But hey, since I’ve been working out, why not show it off a lil? Still won’t see me wearing these too often tho – too breezy haha!
#4 Stay Single for at least 6 months
Don’t like to talk about my personal life, though there really isn’t much to share at the moment. But yeah – status is still “single” and still working on getting my feet back on the ground nice and sturdy. Amazing how much you learn about yourself after being in a long relationship where you thought there was certainty. One of the many things I’ve learned is that there never is certainty – but that that you just need to make sure, whether you’re alone or you have that significant other, that you are sure of who you are and where you want your path in life to take you – you are your own leader. Not to sound cliché, but there’s no other way than to live each day to the fullest!
#50 Perform a Live Show
Finally! I had a great opportunity, thanks to Beatsmith and his crew Uneak and Kris Beach, that I got to perform my first show ever with my own songs. Given it was only two, but this is just the first step to hopefully more to come! I was a bit n
ervous – more from excitement than being scared. But I’ll never forget the feeling I felt being up on a stage with a mic and doing what I’ve always dreamed of. Ain’t no
#79 Go to a
So this is kind of an adjustment. Instead of going with my brother (Kurisu) my friend Tammi took me to the HB firing range
and showed me how load, cradle, and fire a 22. Oh the feeling of empowerment! I don’t think I did too bad on my fir
st try. The guys next to u
s let us fire off a round from their 45 and I hit the bullseye! Good to know my coordination is still in tact somewhat! Haha! Very fun!=)
Ps: The pic where I'm looking that the cam, I was posing - NOT firing! lol

#91 Post a Video on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/1MissKeyz
I was in a sentimental mood, so I dedicate this song to...You =)
Ernie Halter used to do this thing where he took requests from ppl and would record covers, but make them kinda into his own style... anywho, I thought maybe it'd be cool to do something like that, but then it's not a very original idea... so... if any of you have any ideas on types of videos to post that would highlight my music (NO, no nudity, porn, or anything scandelous).
One of these days, I will have made a music video for one of my own songs, and it will def be posted here =) But in the meantime: baby steps =)

#88 Hug Dad
Though, growing up, I was definately Daddy's Little Girl. And oh did I maniuplate and utilize that as much as one daughter who sees her father once a week can. And dad gave me lots of hugs when he was home, so I can't say that we were never a "huggin it out" family. But since then, puberty and independence happened, so there is a distance that has grown between us, but at the same time, a development of a different kind of mature bond. His worrying went from diaper changes and babysitters, to boys I date/finding me a rich husband and money I (need to, and am currently not able to) make haha. I remember whenever I wanted something though, like a new toy or, *ahem* in my teenage years, MONEY, haha, I would always say what he loved to hear: "Daddy daisuki!!" Which is "I love you, dad!" in Japanese. Sometimes I find myself looking back to those days, reflecting, missing, and cherishing the memory of the simplicity and easiness of bein Daddy's Little Girl... Now I'm Daddy's Little Helper at the restaurant (hahaha) but it's all good. It's all outta love.
So here's to you dad! Otanjyobi Omedetou! (Happy Birthday!)
Also, if you wanna see more pix from Na0-san's birthday at Shimura, check out, and become a fan of Shimura Restaurant on Facebook! **end shameless plug**

#23 Eat a balanced breakfast every day for a month
Most of my breakfasts consisted of bran cereal topped with berries (either strawberries or raspberries) with milk, some kind of fruit, toast with strawberry jam, and egg for protein, and orange juice as a source of calcium for I am lactose intolerant. On busy days I would just eat a boiled egg (usually I had a couple already made for busy days), piece of toast w/ strawberry jam, strawberry yogurt, and gulp down a glass of OJ. On some days when I had more time to cook, I would either make blueberry pancakes, or a chicken with red, yellow, and green bell peppers and onion omelet... or if I was hungry then both (LOL)
Anywho, I feel so blessed coming from awesome parents that know how to cook =)

#87 Hug Mom
Now, normally, this is something people don't have to think about doing, they just do it on an almost regular basis (given that they're in the same vicinity as their mom). But coming from a formal Asian family, there aren't many "I love you"'s being said, if that, any contact with each other whether it be a hand shake or a hug. I think the generation gap is especially a bit wider in my brother and my case from my parents because they are from Japan, and my brother and I grew up here, which makes us first generation American. So we grew up around friends with affectionate families, that shared their affections with us (i.e. hugs, kisses, being tucked in at sleep overs). Mind you, it always felt a lil weird for me, but for the most part, I figured it was what most American families do.
So all in all, this pic is something I will cherish, and I will be giving my mom more hugs in the future. She usually gets weirded out, and rolls her eyes at me, saying "you're so needy, don't touch me." But look how happy she looks in this pic! (despite I grabbed her and forced her to stand still to take a pic with me lol) Mom, you know you love it ;p Mommy love is like no other! Always give ur momma a hug - you'll never know when it'll be the last...

#48 Attend a Soccer Game
And now that I've given my sporty spectator's review of the game, here's my ditzy girly review: first off, I noticed that the stadium isn't as big as when you watch the games on FSC. But then again, everything and everyone looks bigger on TV... But it was great being there in person. And I can see why it'd be a great venue to host concerts in the summer. Coldplay will be playing there, as well as Dave Matthews and I am bummed I will not be attending either. (I did get Coldplay tix at the Irvine Amphitheatre tho! yesss!! ahem, excuse me, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre...) Hopefully I will be attending more soccer events as well as concerts there in the future...
Next, I'd like to point out my observation that DC United has hotter players than Galaxy. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for me, Patterson and McTavish collided into each other at one point in the game, coming off the field for medical attention. Why that is a good thing for me: blood = taking off of the /jersey shirt. Prolly one of the highlights of the experience next to watching Galaxy score goals. But sorry Galaxy, you've downgraded in many aspects since Beckham ran off to play with Italy for a while. I've gotta say, I think soccer players are by far, the hottest type of athletes out there. Yes, I tend to have a thing for basketball players, but the height thing can be an issue sometimes given that I am vertically challenged with a 5'1" cap. So any of you soccer players, hollaaaaa! hahaha, jk ;p ... sort of...
On to the next goal to accomplish!

#24 Walk 10,000 steps in one day
I actaully accomplished this a while back, but had a hard time uploading the pic -
Anywho, the pic is boring, but if you look carefully, it'll say, 10, 115 on March 3rd. I suck at using my new phone for a camera - bare with me.
I never knew how not-so-easy it is to walk 10k steps in one day. Paulo Coelho and my mother do it, so I figured I just needed to go on a semi-long walk, and I was good. Noooo. That day, I ran with my friend, Ashelyn, for a good 5 or 6 miles, AND worked that evening. After that experience, I think I'm good with the usual 3k steps-a-day goal... haha!
More interestin posts to come... hopefully...

#17 Buy a Sofa
So the day finally came! And it came early! Originally I wasn't supposed to get my sofa that I ordered til the end of this month, but I was lucky =)
I miscalculated tho, the dimensions, so it's a bit big for what I'm used to, but I. LOVE. IT! And the boys seems to really like it, so it's all good... Seems, though, and this has struck quite the "rearranging" bug in me, and so a lot of changes to the apt is hopefully to come... Thinkin of transforming the dining area into a work space... never used the dining table, so I figured, why not just sell it or give it away and move my ever growing work space??? This will take a while to set up, but I'm looking forward to it...
Is it sad that I'm so "Monica Gellar" about all this organizing??? Lateral file cabinets in mocha cherry with color coordinated file folders here we come!!! Oooh! Ima go to Target and get me some expandable file folders for my bigger files... NOT the ones where u stick a piece of cardboard to expand, but the expandable POCKET kind! ... k ima stop before I get outta control here =p I think only Elina gets me on this one... even then I dont' think she completely shares my "passion" for organization... haha
Once I get this place in order, ima have a BBQ - so come on ova!

#95.Take care of cell phone ticket...
Nevermind the fact that for a very brief period, my driver's license was being "suspended" and there apparently was a crisp new "warrent" out with my name on it... over a stupid (*cough*overdue*cough*) "talking on a cell phone while driving" ticket, in which was bestowed upon me 4 houses down from Ari's house... I"m not going to go into detail on all the traveling and puppy-dog-eying I had to pull off today, and the amont of money I had to shell out - I'm just happy that I got out of the max penalty costs and walked away with no community service and just a "There's reason this law was passed miss, hand off ur phone to someone next time" mini lecture... Phew!
A lesson learned: Don't talk for more than 10 seconds - an ocifer of the law might see you! or... remember to wear my ear piece... which I would if I'd just remember to charge it... geez

101 Goals in 1001 Days
Over dinner with Martin and Ari one night, Martin was telling me of this "101 goals in 1001 days" thing, and I thought it was pretty interesting. And motivating. And I need a boost for my motivation to get goin, cuz lately I've been a-slackin...

Lemme Introduce Myself...
So yes, I am a bit behind on the times - Even to this day, I still don't know or don't get what a "widget" is...
But lately I've been discovering many fantastic people out there that I have never met in my life that are flat-out interesting to read about. Like a reality show that you read. And because I am reading, and not "watching" on television, I some what must have this justification in the back of my mind that this is "above" watching those trashy reality shows...
--> Because reading requires more brain power than watching...
--> More brain power means it must be more intellectual...
--> Therefore reading blogs about other peoples lives is above actually watching other peoples lives...
yeah.
...just a taste of my "logic."
Either way, I have my few cents that I tend to wanna add to this web crazed community - so read away if you like - tho I can't guarantee you that my life or my opinions will be as interesting as some others... ;)
If anything, you're getting to know me... one blog post at a time.
Oh, and in case you're curious as to why I "used" to write in a diary and currently don't "write" in one is because of a crazy boy whom I dated once, long ago, that knew of no boundaries (read it, cited it, then analyzed it ALOUD to me)... surely stories about him will eventually surface in a blog post or two... I have many...
